When dispensing and dosing culture media, consistent volumes, clean processes and reproducible results are crucial.
Particularly when filling Petri dishes or test tubes in series , the dispensing volume and media distribution must be precisely coordinated to ensure constant growth conditions.

Systec Mediafill is specially designed to meet these requirements and enables unattended dosing of sterile media. The system fills Petri dishes, bi-/tri-plates and tubes fully automatically. With a capacity of up to 900 Petri dishes per hour, it significantly reduces the manual workload and minimizes the risk of contamination.

Filling Petri dishes and test tubes

Dosing takes place via an integrated peristaltic pump, which delivers the sterile culture medium at a constant flow rate. This ensures a constant filling quantity in every Petri dish - regardless of the batch size or dish format.

The dosing parameters can be set precisely and adjusted to the respective media type. This makes the Mediafill suitable for both standard media and more demanding formulations where tight tolerances are required.

In combination with the shaker function, the dosed medium is evenly distributed on the bottom of the Petri dish. This prevents uneven layer thicknesses and ensures homogeneous agar surfaces.

Flexible applications through conversion

In addition to filling Petri dishes, the Systec Mediafill can be converted into a tube filler with minimal conversion work.

The system can be equipped with up to four racks. In this configuration, test tubes with different diameters can be automatically dispensed and filled without the need for manual sorting or additional equipment.
