Innovations in the autoclave sector

Demonstration of the new Systec H-series autoclaves.

The new generation of improved Systec H-series autoclaves features a new design, a completely redesigned interior and a completely new touchscreen control system. This combination guarantees more precise work, more maintenance-friendly devices and shorter and more efficient process times.

In addition, the new autoclaves have an Ethernet connection as standard and optional WLAN hardware to optimize updating, remote maintenance and remote control of the devices via a computer network. An integrated USB port allows the automated export of documentation data in CSV or PDF format. The volume of the extended internal memory also allows documentation data to be stored for up to 10 years. This eliminates the need for separate programs for documentation and archiving. This integrated documentation function is also interesting from a regulatory point of view, as the new generation of the Systec H series automatically fulfills an essential point of the FDA directive CFR 21 Part 11. In this context, other functions of the series serve to fulfill regulatory requirements from the pharmaceutical industry, such as automatically generated, tamper-proof signatures of the generated PDF and CSV files as well as the tracking of all measures, adjustments and alarms using AuditTrail.

The support frame construction and the housing panels are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel (AISI 304 / 1.4301) and are therefore easy to clean. The pressure vessel is made of pharmaceutical stainless steel (AISI 316L / 1.4404) and is designed for up to 4 bar / 140 °C as standard; the temperature and pressure range can be extended to 5 bar / 150 °C. Up to 5 additional flexible PT-100 temperature sensors are optionally available. Each sensor can be individually configured to be used for documentation purposes only or for documentation and control of sterilization processes. Furthermore, up to 100 users and groups can be set up. All users or groups can use the same program list or a single program list with individual programs and settings.

The Systec H-Series consists of front-loading, horizontal laboratory autoclaves in 16 sizes, with chamber volumes from 65 to 1580 liters, as well as the practical Systec H-Series 2D pass-through autoclaves from 90 to 1580 liters. These innovative laboratory autoclaves have two doors, making them ideal for space-saving, gas-tight installation in partition walls. Thanks to the highly effective and high-quality insulation made of melamine resin foam, there is no risk of particle separation, which is why Systec autoclaves can be used under clean room conditions without any problems.

Systec autoclaves can be used for all laboratory applications, even for demanding sterilization processes. Laboratories all over the world therefore rely on the dependable autoclaves from Systec GmbH: using steam, vacuum, high temperatures and pressure, the ultra-modern devices can sterilize complex sterilization media such as filled waste bags, liquids or porous solids reliably, reproducibly and with validation.

All Systec autoclaves can be modularly extended with options and equipment to optimize the sterilization processes in order to carry out validatable sterilization processes. Optionally, only the options required to optimize the respective sterilization processes can be added. For the sterilization of solids and waste in pouches, for example, Systec autoclaves can be equipped with a vacuum system that completely removes the air from the product. This allows steam to penetrate the product and sterilize it in a validatable manner. The integrated Superdry drying system ensures complete drying of solids after sterilization. For the sterilization of liquids in bottles, Systec has developed a cooling system with its Ultracooler, which reduces the re-cooling time by up to 90 % compared to self-cooling.
