Water-resistant glass containers are a basic requirement for work in countless areas, from the chemical industry to food production. The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) defines how water resistance can be determined using the so-called glass test. In the new version (Ph. Eur. Chapter 3.2.1), the requirements for the glass test have been tightened. Systec GmbH & Co. KG has taken this as an opportunity to publish a new white paper on carrying out the test and to draw attention to services relating to the glass test.
The new white paper will be made available to interested companies free of charge - with the aim of providing information based on Ph. Eur. Chapter 3.2.1 and Systec's own proven experience to establish "best practices" for carrying out the glass test. For this reason, the white paper contains more than just a detailed explanation of how to carry out the test using heat treatment in accordance with ISO 4802.
In addition, the document provides clear information on the requirements that Ph. Eur. Chapter 3.2.1 for autoclaves used to perform the glass test.
