There are three main criteria for the optimal preparation of culture media: they must be safe, of uniform quality and quick to prepare. Equally high demands are placed on the sterilization and sterile filling of liquids, such as agar culture media, peptone water and buffer solutions or other sterile liquid media.
Systec offers efficient and cost-effective solutions with its automated media preparators (culture media preparators and culture media sterilizers). With them, the individual work steps of media production and preparation can be carried out not only with consistently high quality and maximum safety, but also quickly in a single work step and reproducibly at any time, without external intervention.
To meet individual requirements, a total of 7 models of Systec Mediaprep automated media preparators are available. The three compact devices have a capacity of 10, 20 and 30 liters respectively, whereby the smallest device can even be placed on the laboratory bench, while the two larger preparators are suitable for mobile use thanks to their castors with locking brakes. The four larger devices offer a usable capacity of 45, 65, 90 and 120 liters, are also mobile and can therefore be placed anywhere in the laboratory.
All Systec media preparators have an increased heating capacity and are equipped with rapid re-cooling, magnetic stirrer, inner container and temperature-locked filling spouts and feedthroughs for filling and adding additives. The optimized automation also regulates the process times and thus ensures the consistently high quality of the sterile media.
Reinforced heating elements ensure particularly fast heating. Rapid cooling is achieved by water circulation on the outer walls of the media container with sterile deionized water, which is cooled with external water via a heat exchanger. The total batch time with heating, sterilization and cooling is between 60 and 120 minutes, depending on the size of the device, the amount of medium and the cooling water temperature. The sterile-filtered support pressure prevents the medium from foaming or boiling over. A compressor is already installed in all Systec Mediaprep models.
The Systec Mediaprep is characterized by its fully programmable microprocessor control. The automatic process sequence ensures a high and reproducible quality of the produced and sterilized media. In the process sequence, the medium is mixed, heated, sterilized and cooled down to the selected filling temperature right from the start. For the filling process, the medium is kept at the selected filling temperature.
The 5.7" touch display for operation is clearly visible and accessible at the top of the door. All process-relevant data can be displayed both numerically and graphically. 7 programs are already predefined and the user can create, change or delete up to 100 programs himself. To easily create a new program, the user is guided through the process in a dialog. Each new program is automatically assigned a fixed, unchangeable identifier and can also be given a user-definable name. All process parameters can be changed individually.
The door and loading openings are controlled according to temperature and pressure. Unintentional opening is impossible! The media containers are interchangeable, easy to remove and easy to clean thanks to the integrated handle.
